


Scholarships
High School
1.) At least four scholarships will be dispersed annually to graduating seniors (female students) from the following counties: Coweta, Harris, Meriwether, and Troup. The current high schools in rotation are:
a.) Coweta County - East Coweta HS, Newnan HS, Northgate HS,
b.) Harris County - Harris County HS
c.) Meriwether County - Greenville HS and Manchester HS, and
d.) Troup County - Callaway HS, LaGrange HS, and Troup HS
2.) A scholarship will be given to a Soror’s child if she is financially active. Financially active means all fees and assessments have been paid in full.
a.) A county will be dropped from the rotation of high schools whenever there is a Sorors’ child graduating from the said county.
3.) If a substantial number of high school students apply for our scholarship, the scholarship committee will meet before the interview process to reduce the amount to a feasible pool for the business meeting.
4.) The interview process will be held during our regular business meeting in April. All applicants are required to attend. a. High school recipients, not including Sorors’ children, will be selected by totaling the applicants’ individual scorecards. Scorecards will be completed by Sorors during the interviews.

5.) All high school recipients, including Sorors’ children, must attend a college or university to receive their award.
a.) All high school scholarship recipients, including Sorors’ children, must submit a letter of enrollment verification by late October or late March.
b.) The letter of enrollment verification must display their college or university’s official letterhead.
6.) Each high school recipient will receive his or her award in December at our Annual Cotillion Ball if he or she adheres to item number 5.
7.) One scholarship will be given to a college student who attends an HBCU, in accordance with our National Program.
a.) Our HBCU rotation is based on the active alumni in our chapter.
b.) Our scholarship letter and check will be mailed to the college or university’s scholarship committee at the beginning of the Fall semester.
c.) Our HBCU recipient is selected by the university’s scholarship committee.
d.) The HBCU rotation will continue until we’re provided a different directive from the corporate office.
8.) Applications will be emailed to all chapter members on the same day our documents are sent to the high school counselors.
9.) If a high school recipient experiences hardship with college acceptance, he or she will be granted one additional semester to submit the letter of enrollment verification. The letter of enrollment verification must be submitted by late March of the following year, five months after the initial deadline. Otherwise, the scholarship will be forfeited.
10.) All letters of enrollment verification must contain the college’s official letterhead
11.) High School must have at least a 2.50 GPA, must show a commitment to community service, must demonstrate leadership abilities, must submit two letters of recommendation, must submit an official transcript, must attend our interview process, and must attend a college or university.
